Romano, Pontzer & Associates has been providing infectious disease consultation since 1980.  We employ only highly qualified physicians and mid-level providers.  We diagnose and treat all types of infections and prescribe the appropriate antibiotics consistent with the latest standards of care.  Some common diagnosis we treat are soft tissue infections (cellulitis), osteomyelitis, wound infections, respiratory illnesses, Lyme, blood stream infections, urinary tract infections, viral infections, and diarrhea.  Our follow up service is second to none in the Pittsburgh area.

Patients will find our infusion suite to be clean, comfortable and convenient. Through Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT), we are able to reduce hospital length of stay and sometimes avoid hospitalizations completely. This is an effective method for treating acute infections in the outpatient setting. Our physicians will monitor the patients’ progress daily and make the appropriate step down to an oral regimen. We will coordinate this care with referring physicians to ensure an optimal management plan is followed and completed.
